Wine, Women & Chocolate Print E-mail

Thanks to everyone who helped make the 4th Annual Wine, Women and Chocolate event a huge success! All proceeds from the event help support the IMA Recreation Association and the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Flint. We had approximately 275 people at the event this year representing 23 different counties in Michigan. Thanks to our generous equipment sponsor, Shumaker's Ski and Snowboard, the women were able to try out cross-country skiing or snowshoeing! As they traversed the 5K outdoor course the women sampled delicious offerings from our tent sponsors, Park Avenue Cheesecake, Edible Arrangements, Buffalo Wild Wings, Dutchman's Café & Catering, Madden's Lounge, Great Harvest Bread Co and IMA Catering. Finishing the outdoor portion of the event, ladies trickled in and were pampered with chair massages, manicures, lip treatments and make-up tips, foot massages, hair refreshers and paraffin wax hand treatments all compliments of Flint School of Therapeutic Massage, Illusions Styling Salon, Salon W., Escape Salon, Transitions School of Cosmetology, Mary Kay Cosmetics and Arbonne International. As if that weren't enough the afternoon concluded with wine tasting, a hors d'oeuvres buffet and more delectable desserts from The French Confection. This event would not be possible without the tremendous support from our sponsors, Citizen's Bank, The Flint Journal and the Flint Women and Girls Fund of the Community Foundation of Greater Flint. A special thanks goes out to the more than 25 male volunteers that waited on the women participants and helped make the event run smoothly. Check out the photo gallery from the event and mark you calendar for the 5th Annual Wine, Women and Chocolate on Saturday, February 6, 2010!

The IMA Recreation Association (IMA RA) provides recreational programs and opportunities for children and families throughout Genesee County. Our organization is dedicated to improving the lives of Genesee County residents through our programs, which support sports, recreation and education. IMA RA programs include the Greater Flint Area Baseball/Softball Commission, Davison Softball, Flint Junior Golf Association and Badges for Baseball. Through our programs, participants are able to develop important life skills such as cooperation, team building, problem solving and responsible citizenship.

The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Flint has one goal: provide every child of Mid-Michigan an opportunity to chase and realize his or her dreams. We do this by providing a healthy and safe environment where boys and girls can learn the life skills necessary to become successful in today's society. We promote teamwork, diversity, respect and the importance of being active in the community.

We help boys and girls with their homework, encourage artistic expression, and focus on respect. We encourage the kids to explore their creative talents, and strive to give them the confidence to dream big. We help the boys and girls of today to become the men and women of tomorrow.
