IMA Recreation Association

The IMA Recreation Association is committed to providing recreational programs and opportunities for children and families throughout Genesee County. Our programs support sports, recreation and education while fostering good citizenship and team efforts.

Since 1998, the IMA Recreation Association has provided more than 37,000 children and adults in Genesee County with outstanding recreational opportunities and expert programming. The participation rate of children and adults has increased from 105 in 1998 to 7,641 in 2008.

The IMA Recreation Association owns and operates IMA Brookwood Golf Club and IMA Catering. This means when you do business with the IMA - golf, catering or park maintenance - you support our mission of community enhancement. This unique status provides access to those program essential facilities and offers strong support of our mission-focused business entity.

Our new name, the IMA Recreation Association, was adopted in 2008 through a merging of the IMA Children's Recreation Fund and the Industrial Mutual Association (founded in 1922). This consolidation has helped re-focus our efforts on the original IMA goal of bringing recreational opportunities to the local community. Watch our short two-minute video to see a brief overview of our organization's history and recent transition to the IMA Recreation Association.
